FAQs
Were you really a farmer?
Yes! I was a vegetable farmer for 7 years- mostly in central New Jersey. I bring my joy of hard work and tireless problem-solving to my career as a photographer. And I’m never afraid to get dirty to get the shot.
Do you do Motion?
I offer stop motion/GIFs as an add-on to my still photography services. I also partner with several incredible videographers and drone operators to provide any additional video needs. I’m happy to bring them into the conversation so that all of your brands needs can be met.
Do you use food stylists?
I strongly encourage all of my clients to use my trusted food stylists on shoots. Bringing a food stylist onto the set means that you’re committed to getting the very best-looking shots of your product or dishes. It truly is night and day in terms of results.
Ultimately it is up to you, and I will always work with your chef or other team member if you would like for them to do the styling. If you are requesting that I do the styling as well, it will greatly impact the number of shots we can get-because I’ll be doing more than one job!
If you have any questions about food styling, I’m happy to discuss them with you and help you get quality shots you need.
Do you photograph tethered?
It’s important to me that my clients can preview the images from our photoshoot in real time to ensure the images are exactly what they want. Once we discuss the particulars of your shoot and needs we’ll decide if tethering is the best choice for your shoot.
Do you do treatments?
Treatments are a great opportunity for me to present my ideas and creative vision for a photoshoot. It's also an important time to ensure we're completely aligned on the client's concept and vision. Im happy to create a treatment upon request.
Do you offer drone photography?
As with my video services, I work with a few trusted videographers to offer drone photography services as an add-on to any photoshoot. I am happy to share examples of this work for you upon request.
How do you handle post production?
I do the majority of post production to ensure the results are exactly what I promised my clients . For more complex tasks like compositing, or short turn-arounds, I am happy to recommend several incredibly skilled retouchers or collaborate with your preferred retoucher.
What other services do you source for a photoshoot?
I have trusted relationships with many professionals: food stylists, prop stylists, videographers, hair stylists, makeup artists, set designers, and high-end retouchers.
What is it like to work with you on set?
I bring my enthusiasm, humor and good energy to every shoot. We work hard and work well as a team because I’m dedicated to each team member feeling respected and valued on set. I take the time to get to know my clients and their needs (and favorite coffee for the morning!) because there’s nothing more important to me than building lasting relationships with my clients.
Do you do casting with video or stills?
I do both. I offer casting services through partnering with talent agencies, or sourcing “real-life models.”
Do you travel?
I’m happy to travel anywhere in the US or worldwide for shoots.
Do you work with an assistant?
I love working with my assistant on set- a great team makes a huge difference in how smoothly a day on set goes. That said, each shoot is very different and an assistant may not be necessary. Now with concerns about having fewer folks on set at this time, we'll only have absolutely necessary crew on set at any given time.
What is your turnaround time for images?
The scope of work and level of editing for every project can vary. Together we’ll determine the turnaround time for the images based on when you need them.
Do you have a studio?
Yes! My studio is located in Houston, TX. It is has a full kitchen and is equipped for fully remote shoots for client’s convenience. To learn more about it, go here.
Do you rent your studio?
Depending on your needs, my studio may be a great fit for you. My studio is a great space for portraits, professional headshots, product photography, and a meeting space.
What is your price range?
I work with my clients to determine the full scope of their project before I can give an accurate estimate. After our introductory call, I put together an estimate and proposal for you. I love to discuss budgets and I always work to produce the highest-quality shoot possible within a budget.
Do you include digital files?
During our introductory phone call, we’ll discuss your usage needs. Will the images be used online, for social media, in print, or in many ways? Based on the intended usage, we’ll discuss the number of files and usage rights you'll need for them.
Do you license your images?
If you’re working with other businesses on your project and they’re interested in using the images, I am happy to discuss licensing the images to them.
